KIN SHRINER JOINS "Y & amp;R": For more than 25 years Kin Shriner has been known for the role of Scott Baldwin on "General Hospital" and "Port Charles," but now he has been signed to "The Young and the Restless." Starting Sept. 7, he'll play Harrison Bartlett, estranged stepson of Arthur Hendricks, which will insert him into the always tempestuous environment surrounding Kay and Jill.
WALK-ON ROLE: The episode of "Y & amp;R" airing Aug. 30, will showcase the winner of a Big Brother competition in which the prize was a walk-on role on a soap.
COVETED ROLE: Billie Reed is coming back to "Days of Our Lives," and actress Julie Pinson has captured the coveted role. Last seen in the short-term role of Shiloh on "Y & amp;R," Pinson originated the role of Eve Lambert Thornhart on "Port Charles." Her debut is set Sept. 13 when she'll appear on Captive Island and become involved with Bo, Hope and Patrick. Meanwhile, though "Days" is off the air while the Olympics are broadcast, SoapNet will air a "Days Decathlon" now through Aug. 27. The special programming features favorite episodes chosen by "Days" stars, introduced with commentary by the actor who selected it.
STORY LINE: Eight-year-old Dylan Denton is playing Julia's son, J.J., on "As the World Turns," as the nurse and her son get more involved in Jack's life. Although it seems that Julia is being helpful in Jack's quest to rediscover his identity, who knows what lurks beneath the surface, since actress Sarah Brown's character is set to stick around for several months.
ROMANCE IN THE AIR: Nikolas and Emily's romance on "General Hospital" may finally run smoothly since Catherine Wadkins, who has made life difficult as Mary since the spring, will likely leave the show next month.
