Malenic 50th marked during cruise, dinner



XYOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. John Malenic, 3127 Shirley Road, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren recently during a Caribbean cruise.
They were also honored during a dinner party held Aug. 7 at the Byzantine Center at the Grove.
Hosts were their son, John Malenic of Stockton, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and Jerry Hunter of Boardman; and four grandchildren.
The former Betty Kraynak and Mr. Malenic were united in marriage Aug. 7, 1954, at St. Dominic Church. They are members of St. Matthias Church and are volunteers at St. Vincent De Paul.
Mrs. Malenic is retired after having been employed at Gorant Candies.
Mr. Malenic served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed at Fitzsimons Steel and retired from Bank One. He is the owner of Malenic Sewer and Drain Co.
