XYOUNGSTOWN -- Elena Rae Cook of North Jackson and Shawn Paul Eaken of Alvada were united in marriage July 16 at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park, where they exchanged nuptial vows during a 4:30 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Bradley Jagger.
The bride is a daughter of Donna J. Cook of North Jackson and Troy Garrett Cook of Pittsburgh.
Parents of the groom are Jeanette Sickle of Alvada and James Eaken of Newton Falls.
The couple accepted congratulations at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center before leaving on a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Jenna Cook served as honor attendant for her sister, and the bridesmaid was Deanne Reeve. The groom's nieces, Samantha, Rebecca, Debra and Mikayla Eaken, were flower girls.
The duties of best man were performed by Dustin Sickle, a brother of the groom, and the usher was another brother, Michael Eaken.
The bride graduated from Mount Union College with a bachelor's degree in mass media.
The groom is a U. S. Navy third class electronics technician serving aboard the USS Cole.
The Eakens live in Chesapeake, Va.
