Beights honored at surprise dinner on anniversary

XNEW MIDDLETOWN -- A surprise dinner party was held Aug. 5 at Das Dutch Haus in Columbiana in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Beight Jr., 5527 E. Calla Road, who were observing their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were the couple's family, Lewis and Sherry Beight, Boardman; Dale and Arlene Lanterman, Youngstown; Edward Beight, Poland; Drew and Bernice Tkach, Washingtonville; and Richard and Judy Grant.
Mr. Beight and the former Shirley Aeppli exchanged nuptial vows Aug. 5, 1954, as they were united in marriage at Old Springfield Evangelical Reformed Church. They have 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Beight retired in 1990 from Carbon Limestone in Lowellville, and S.M.E. of Uniontown, Pa., where he was a stone driller and blaster.
