Cardinals: Defensive tackle Kenny King needs surgery on his right wrist and probably will miss the season, the latest hit to a team struggling with injuries. King, a fifth-round draft pick last season, had been battling rookie Darnell Dockett for the starting job on the right side of the defense. But he injured wrist tendons that had already been surgically repaired once this year. King missed practice Tuesday to have his injury diagnosed in Phoenix. King was the fourth starter -- first on defense -- lost to injury. The Cardinals have been practicing without wide receivers Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald and Bryant Johnson. Also, fullback James Hodgins (shoulder), safety Dexter Jackson (back) and running back Marcel Shipp (broken leg) are out for an extended period.
Jets: Strong safety Reggie Tongue returned to practice Wednesday after missing 25 straight sessions due to a strained left calf sustained on the second day of training camp. He is not expected to play in Saturday's game against the Colts. Also, receiver Wayne Chrebet will miss his second straight game with a quadriceps injury. Receiver Santana Moss (hamstring), backup quarterback Brooks Bollinger (knee), nickel cornerback Ray Mickens (knee) and running back Derrick Ward (ankle) are out for Saturday's game. Fullback B.J. Askew is questionable with a shoulder injury.
Eagles: Rookie running back Bruce Perry underwent successful reconstructive surgery on his left shoulder Wednesday. Perry separated his shoulder in the preseason opener at New England on Friday. He was placed on injured reserve Monday. Defensive end N.D. Kalue, who tore a knee ligament Tuesday, said he will undergo surgery on Aug. 30.
Bengals: Veteran running back Skip Hicks was cut by Cincinnati. Hicks played for Washington from 1998-2000 and with Tennessee in 2001. He was on Carolina's roster in 2002, and did not play in the NFL after being waived by the Panthers before the start of last season.
Bills: Punter Brian Moorman hurt his left leg in practice Wednesday and did not return. Coach Mike Mularkey did not immediately know the extent of the injury, but expected an update sometime today. Right guard Chris Villarrial was excused from both practices for what Mularkey called family reasons.
Giants: Defensive end Keith Washington will be sidelined for about two weeks after breaking a bone near his eye in Friday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The injury was diagnosed after Washington complained about pain around his eye during practice this week.
Colts: Defensive tackle Derek Kennard and linebacker Pasha Jackson have been signed.
Redskins: Linebacker LaVar Arrington (knee) and left tackle Chris Samuels (mild concussion) missed practice for the second straight day. After having 18 players miss Tuesday's afternoon practice, the Redskins only had nine players sit out on Wednesday, including rookie receiver John Standeford, who had an inner ear infection.
Titans: Tight end Erron Kinney left practice Wednesday and hyperventilating about an hour into the workout. Rookie defensive end Bo Schobel, a fourth-round pick out of TCU, got out of the walking boot that had been protecting his surgically repaired right foot.
Broncos: Wide receiver Atnaf Harris returned to practice after being out since Aug. 11 with sprained lower back.
Saints: Derek Ross was claimed off waivers, one day after the cornerback was waived by the Falcons.
Seahawks: Backup quarterback Trent Dilfer returned to practice after being sidelined by back spasms last week. He might see action against Denver on Saturday.
Packers: Wide receiver Shockmain Davis broke his right leg on a kickoff return in practice and will miss the season. Center Mike Flanagan and left guard Mike Wahle will sit out a second exhibition game because of knee injuries.
49ers: Quarterback Tim Rattay missed practice again Wednesday and underwent more tests on his injured throwing arm. An MRI exam Wednesday showed Rattay's forearm was improved and healing. Second-year quarterback Ken Dorsey will make his second consecutive preseason start Saturday against the Bears.
Rams: Center Dave Wohlabaugh, who has been slow to recover from off-season hip surgery, was released. Wohlabaugh failed a training camp physical, and the Rams terminated his contract.
