Community Recognition and Awards Ceremony at 6 p.m. in the Rayen School auditorium on Youngstown's North Side. Keynote speaker is Gena Thornton, pastor of St. Paul AME Church in Cleveland. The event is free and open to the public.A reception with live music and refreshments will start at 9 p.m. at the Phar-Mor Center in downtown Youngstown. The cost is $20 per person, $30 per couple, $10 for children, kids under 5 free. Children with NAACP or Urban League memberships admitted free.
SATURDAY
A Solidarity Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the downtown fire station and proceed up Fifth Avenue to the Rayen School.The Kuumba Festival/Marketplace will begin at 1 p.m. at the Rayen School.
SUNDAY
Concert choirs will perform in the stadium area of the Rayen School beginning at 3 p.m.
