Slain woman was pregnant, coroner says

EAST LIVERPOOL -- Columbiana County Coroner Dr. William Graham said Tiffany Faulk was pregnant when she died early Monday in the street on the city's West Side.
Graham said Faulk, 21, of West 9th Street, died of "blunt impact to the head, skull and brain."
"She was struck repeatedly and death came within minutes," Graham said. "It's a homicide, and I consider it a double homicide because she was 15 weeks pregnant."
Graham said he is waiting on some test results to confirm his suspicions, but found evidence that Faulk was beaten with a baseball bat found near her body.
Brandon W. Johnson, 19, of East Liverpool is being held in the Columbiana County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.
Police responded just after midnight Monday to a call of a fight in the street on the city's West Side. They arrived to find Faulk lying on the pavement at Edgewood Street and Grape Alley. She was pronounced dead.
Acting on a tip, police found Johnson around 2:30 a.m. lying in a creek bed between state Route 11 and Claiborne Street.
East Liverpool police, Columbiana County prosecutor's office and the county coroner's office are continuing the investigation.
