BWC schedules classeson safety for employers
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation will offer two free safety classes for employers next month at Youngstown State University's DeBartolo Executive Center, Suite 200.
A course in OSHA record keeping is set for 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Sept. 15, and a second, two-day course on the fundamentals of an effective safety and health program is scheduled for those same hours Sept. 21 and 22.

Cement masons offerapprenticeship classes
VIENNA -- Applications will be taken Sept. 13 through 18 for a new class of cement mason apprentices to be trained under the Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties Cement Masons and Plasterers Joint Apprenticeship Program.
Applications will be accepted at the Builders Association of Eastern Ohio & amp; Western Pennsylvania offices on state Route 193 in Vienna. Hours are 9 to 11 a.m. and 1:30 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday of that week and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. only on Saturday.
Applicants must be United States citizens 18 or older. Each applicant must bring a high school grade transcript, a military service certificate of completion, if applicable, and a birth certificate or driver's license. A nonrefundable $20 application fee will be charged, and an aptitude test will be administered at the time of application.
HBA sets seminaron occupational safety
YOUNGSTOWN -- A morning seminar on general occupational safety and employee training will be offered Sept. 9 at the HBA Headquarters & amp; Training Facility, 8526 South Avenue. Cost is $25 per person, and seating is limited to the first 50 registered participants. Registration and a continental breakfast will start at 7:30 a.m., and the seminar will be from 8 to 11:45 a.m.
