Mr. and Mrs. Louis E. Stark Sr. observe 60th anniversary at family reunion



XYOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Louis E. Stark Sr. of 3454 White Beech Lane were honored July 15 at a dinner in the Jolly Pelican Room at the Holiday Inn, Padre Island, Texas, in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.
The observance took place during a family reunion held that week at the Island House, Padre Island.
Hosts for the event were the couple's children and their spouses, Phoebe Stark and Tom Sedwick of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico; Louis Jr. and Betsy Stark of Youngstown; and Sally and Bert Terry of Laredo, Texas. An additional dinner was held July 16 at The Torch in Corpus Christi, Texas, by Gail Hoye Meury, a cousin of Mrs. Stark.
Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren complete their family.
Mr. Stark and the former Mary Elizabeth Hoye were married July 15, 1944, at St. Patrick Church in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.
He worked on the Manhattan Project in New York City during World War II and retired in 1985 from Babcock & amp; Wilcox Research Center in Alliance, where he was a research engineer. He is a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union and the American Legion.
Mrs. Stark worked as a clerk at the Medical-Dental Bureau in Youngstown until 1981. She belongs to St. Christine Church.
The couple are members of the Saxon Club and Saxon Club Retirees and are former members of the Concordia Chorus.
