ASSOCIATIONS
XMahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet for lunch Sept. 8 at Antone's Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St., Boardman. A social hour will begin at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at noon. CLUBS
XCanfield Swim and Tennis Club's Swim Team will hold a back-to-school breakfast for mothers who survived the summer on Sept. 14 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. The buffet will feature omelets, cheese blintzes, bacon, fruit, pastries, and coffee, tea or orange juice. Tickets are $12 and may be obtained by calling Sharon Velasquez, (330) 533-1695, or Carm Smith, (330) 533-0631. A Chinese auction will also be held.
XYoungstown American-Hungarian Club members will hold the annual picnic for members and guests Aug. 22 at the club, 2219 Donald Ave., Youngstown. Members are asked to take casseroles. Cost is $5 for members and $7 for guests. Dues also will be collected. Serving will begin at 1:30 p.m., and there will be a bacon fry. Reservations must be made by Wednesday by calling (330) 799-8111.
SERVICE CLUBS
XDowntown Youngstown Kiwanis will hold its annual golf outing and fish fry Friday. Golf will begin at 10:45 a.m. at Firestone Farms. Cost is $40 for 18 holes of golf, cart and prizes. The fish fry will be held at 4:30 p.m. at Pine Lake. Cost is $6 for members and $12 for senior members and guests. For golf reservations call Art Cooksey, (330) 533-1867. SUPPORT GROUPS
XAlzheimer's Family Support Group of Struthers will meet at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 21 at Struthers Presbyterian Church, 110 Poland Ave. Meetings are free of charge and open to all caregivers, family members and friends who have a loved one with memory problems. XYoungstown Pride Center/PFLAGT will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Unitarian Church, 1105 Elm St., Youngstown. The organization's annual picnic will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 21 at Pavilion 1 on Milton Avenue in Lake Milton. Cost is $2, and the event will be a potluck dinner. Swimming and games are planned.
