Photographer alleges beating in Aguilera lawsuit
PARIS -- A photographer has sued Christina Aguilera, contending he was spat upon and beaten up by her bodyguard after he snapped an unflattering picture of her leaving a Hollywood nightclub, reports Agence France-Presse.
Celebrity photographer David Keeler contended in the suit filed in Los Angeles that he was taking pictures of stars as they left a trendy club May 21 last year when he saw Aguilera emerge around 2 a.m.
He alleged in his suit that he snapped pictures of the Grammy-winning artist who "appeared to be intoxicated and needed assistance walking to the car."
As the star's car sped off, Aguilera's bodyguard Vernon Warren allegedly spat on Keeler and punched him in the mouth before telling him he needed to "learn respect," the photographer contended.
Keeler was "dazed, in pain and bloodied" in the attack, but Warren nonetheless asked or hired another man to strike Keeler again, the suit alleged.
Keeler was told that he was not wanted there and was punched in the face again and then in the back, the suit stated.
The photographer is seeking unspecified damages and punitive damages.
Andre 3000 chosenas world's best-dressed
NEW YORK -- Who's the best-dressed man of all? According to the September issue of Esquire, that would be Outkast's Andre 3000 -- the rapper who wears dresses, fedoras and loads of pink and lime green.
Known for pushing the fashion envelope on a regular basis, Andre 3000 has been photographed in hot-pink trousers, electric-red fur tops, bright green plaid golf slacks, and an ever-changing lineup of oversized shades.
Esquire editors said they "combed the earth ... scanned every square mile of the globe, from the tip of Africa to the beaches of Mexico" to arrive at their list, which also featured Pharrell Williams, Chris Martin, Jude Law, Hugh Grant, Matt Lauer, Prince Charles and, of course, U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
"We can learn something about style from each of them," the magazine concluded, though it did not expand on that thought.
Sizemore arrestedon probation violation
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Actor Tom Sizemore was arrested Wednesday on a probation violation and released after posting $10,000 bail, authorities said.
Sizemore, 42, was arrested on a narcotics violation when probation officers conducting random visits discovered drugs at his residence, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. Vance Duffy.
Sizemore, who has appeared in such films as "Black Hawk Down" and "Saving Private Ryan," was sentenced in October to six months in jail on misdemeanor charges of physically abusing former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss during their two-year relationship.
The judge stayed the jail time while Sizemore took part in a rehabilitation program for drug abusers, and said he would consider reducing the sentence to 90 days if the actor successfully completed the program and other requirements.
Sizemore's attorney, Michael Rovell, did not immediately return a call left after business hours Wednesday.
Prosecutors recently alleged that Sizemore violated his probation by testing positive for methamphetamine, but his attorney attributed the result to a prescription drug. A Sept. 2 hearing is set to determine whether Sizemore violated his probation in that instance.
