AMERICAN LEAGUE
Yankees 4, Rangers 2
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Derek Jeter hit a solo homer and Tanyon Sturtze pitched five innings in a spot start for New York. Sturtze (4-2), moved into the rotation because Javier Vazquez has pink eye. He allowed two runs on three hits in the first, but held the Rangers scoreless from there. Paul Quantrill, Tom Gordon and Mariano Rivera combined to pitch four hitless innings to preserve the five-hitter, with Rivera getting three outs for his 39th save.
Tigers 11, Athletics 3
OAKLAND, Calif. -- Dmitri Young hit a three-run homer and Wilfredo Ledezma made the early lead stand up. Omar Infante drove in three runs and Rondell White homered as the Tigers ended a three-game losing streak. Ivan Rodriguez was the only Detroit starter who did not get a hit.

BOSTON -- Kevin Millar had four hits and four RBIs in the first five innings for Boston. Derek Lowe (10-10) allowed nine hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Jason Varitek also drove in four runs with two doubles for Boston. David Ortiz drove in two runs, giving him 100 for the second straight season and leaving him one short of his career high.
Royals 4, White Sox 2
CHICAGO -- Darrell May didn't allow a hit until the sixth inning and Mike Sweeney hit a two-run homer as Kansas City ended its five-game losing streak. Chicago committed three errors in losing for the 13th time in 17 games.
Angels 4, Orioles 2
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Vladimir Guerrero's homer in the sixth tied it and Garret Anderson's two-run single in the seventh helped Anaheim snap Baltimore's eight-game winning streak. Kelvim Escobar (7-8) improved to 12-3 against the Orioles in his career, allowing a run and six hits in seven innings. Troy Percival gave up a leadoff homer to B.J. Surhoff in the ninth before finishing for his 22nd save.
Mariners 4, Twins 3
SEATTLE -- Pinch-runner Willie Bloomquist stole third base and scored on catcher Henry Blanco's throwing error with one out in the ninth inning. Blanco's throw appeared to ricochet off Bloomquist's helmet toward the Twins' third-base dugout. Sliding headfirst, Bloomquist collided with third baseman Corey Koskie, who fell over in pain. Bloomquist then got up and scored without a play.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Phillies 15, Rockies 4
PHILADELPHIA -- Pitcher Randy Wolf homered twice, giving him three this season, and threw seven innings. Wolf went 3-for-3 and scored three runs in becoming the first major league pitcher to homer twice in a game since the Phillies' Robert Person on June 2, 2002, against Montreal. Jim Thome homered twice, Chase Utley hit a three-run homer and Jimmy Rollins added a two-run shot for the Phillies.
Dodgers 11, Reds 1
CINCINNATI -- After finding out that Ken Griffey Jr. would miss the rest of the season, the Reds were shut down by Jeff Weaver. An MRI showed that Griffey was more seriously injured than originally suspected when he hyper-extended his right leg last week in San Francisco on a play in the outfield. It was his first action in nearly four weeks since tearing his hamstring. Griffey will undergo surgery Monday to reattach the hamstring and should be able to participate in spring training, Reds medical director Dr. Timothy Kremchek said. Jose Hernandez had a bases-loaded triple and a two-run homer, and Shawn Green added a three-run shot for Los Angeles.
Cardinals 1, Marlins 0
MIAMI -- Jeff Suppan allowed just two hits in eight-plus innings and Edgar Renteria singled home the only run as St. Louis extended its winning streak to seven games. The Cardinals won for the 20th time in 25 games since the All-Star break.
Braves 10, Brewers 3
ATLANTA -- Adam LaRoche had his first career two-homer game and J.D. Drew added a solo shot for Atlanta. Charles Thomas had two hits for the Braves, including a two-run single after a brief power outage in the fifth inning.
Expos 7, Diamondbacks 3
MONTREAL -- Brian Schneider's grand slam capped Montreal's six-run outburst in the fourth inning. The Diamondbacks fell to a major league-worst 35-80, becoming the first team to reach 80 losses. Arizona has lost 25 of 29 and 43 of 52.
Cubs 5, Padres 1
CHICAGO -- Carlos Zambrano pitched eight strong innings in his return from a suspension and Corey Patterson homered to lead Chicago.
