HAZMAT EMERGENCY Envelope causes Boardman bank workers to itch



Two bank employees were taken to a Youngstown hospital for treatment.
BOARDMAN -- The area around First National Bank, 7025 Market St., was cordoned off this morning after two bank employees had allergic reactions when an envelope was opened.
Boardman Fire Chief James Dorman said that the reaction was itching of skin, and no product was seen in the envelope.
He said all precautions were being taken.
Decontamination tent
Mahoning County HAZMAT was setting up a decontamination tent to wash down the two female bank employees before they were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment and evaluation.
Dorman said that two other employees in the bank were not affected.
The bank was closed, and no one was permitted in or out.
In addition to HAZMAT and the Boardman Fire Department, the Mahoning County Health Department was at the scene.
The Fire Department was called about 10 a.m.
