HELOISE The ADHD Experts on Call hot line is available today
Dear Heloise: You might remember me as the mother of six children, all who have attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. For the past few years, you have printed my letters about a valuable program I participate in called ADHD Experts on Call, an educational hot line that allows parents and teachers to speak one on one with leading experts in the field of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.
When you print my letter, we receive literally thousands of calls from people who say they read about our hot line in "Hints from Heloise." We can't thank you enough -- with your help, we have been able to help so many families cope with this disorder.
As an educator and parent dedicated to the proper treatment of this serious disorder that affects millions of children and adults all day, every day, I am pleased to report that ADHD Experts on Call will return this year. Along with more than 20 top ADHD experts, including doctors, teachers, school nurses and advocates, I will be on hand to answer questions. The toll-free number is (888) ASK-ADHD (275-2343).
The number will be available today, Aug. 9, from 8 a.m. to midnight EDT. In addition to speaking with leading experts, all callers may request free, easy-to-read booklets about ADHD.
For parents and teachers helping children cope with the many challenges of ADHD -- or for anyone who has questions about this chronic disorder -- ADHD Experts on Call offers authoritative, reliable guidance.
The importance of proper education about ADHD is key to the success of properly managing it. I only wish that ADHD Experts on Call had been there for me and my husband when our children began to struggle with the disorder. With courage, professional assistance and access to dependable information, families can learn to manage ADHD and help their children make the most of their lives at home, at school and at play. Sandra Jones, Ph.D.
Sandra, your letter is one that I'm proud to print. Folks, jot down the phone number so you can call these experts with any questions you might have. Heloise

Dear Heloise: Before pouring cream from a pitcher for your coffee, put a little butter on the spout. You will have no drips -- works every time. Eleanor Wenger, Ventura, Calif.
Sound off: Unless you get the codes from the spice company, you have no idea what the ages are of the spices you buy. I know they load the new ones toward the back of the rack in the grocery store.
So, why can't they put a regular date on them -- and also an easier place to write the purchase date on the jar?
