YOUNGSTOWN -- Shequela Jones, marketing representative with Global Entertainment Systems, will discuss the Youngstown Convention Center project at a meeting of the Youngstown Arts & amp; Entertainment District Association at 6 p.m. Monday on the second floor of the Ohio One Building at Boardman and Champion streets. Jones will give an overview of the arena project.
Home energy assistance
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership is scheduling appointments for a Home Energy Assistance/Summer Crisis Program through Aug. 31.
Financial assistance will be provided to those who meet income eligibility requirements. Applicants must report their total household income for the past three months for all members 18 years of age and older. If granted an interview, applicants must bring their electric bill, proof of income and Social Security numbers for all household members age 2 or older to the MYCAP office, 101 Federal Plaza E., Suite 200.

FOP to meet in Valley
BOARDMAN -- The 71st annual conference of the Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio will draw more than 400 delegates, FOP auxiliary and FOP associates to the Mahoning Valley on July 16-19 in 2005. This area was chosen over Dayton during the 70th annual conference in Columbus. Mr. Anthony's will serve as the conference center and surrounding hotels have been booked, said Youngstown Detective Sgt. Patricia Garcar, co-chairwoman of the event. 2010 meeting, party
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Sheridan Crime Watch will have a Family Day Block Party from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Sheridan Playground. There will be free food, music and contests for children. The party coincides with Youngstown 2010 meeting that will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday next door at Sheridan Elementary. The party is an outgrowth of last year's National Night Out event that was sponsored by the crime watch and will become an annual event, said Clarence Boles, block watch president and councilman, D-6th.
I-79 lane restrictions
MERCER, Pa. -- There will be daylight lane restrictions in the northbound and southbound lanes on Interstate 79 between Monday and Friday, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said. Lanes will be restricted in various spots between mile posts 112 and 120. Delays may occur that could increase congestion and cause traffic to back up in, and approaching, the work area, the agency said. The work will include new sign installation and putting in new emergency vehicle crossovers.
Water advisory lifted
COLUMBIANA -- The city announced Saturday that it has lifted a boil-drinking-water advisory that was in effect for North Cross, North Pearl and Cross Court streets, where there had been a waterline break.
Hope House donation
YOUNGSTOWN -- Hope House Visitation Center of Youngstown has been awarded $5,000 by Attorney General Jim Petro. The discretionary funding is made available through various charitable-gambling settlements reached on behalf of the state of Ohio.
Hope House, a private, nonprofit organization, was chosen because of its continued efforts to help families develop healthy parent-child relationships. Hope House provides a child-friendly environment for supervised visitation, custodial/noncustodial exchanges, education and mediation purposes relevant to the development of healthy parent-child relationships.
