Hillside nurses get raises
HOWLAND -- Registered nurses at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital will see their wages increase by 14.7 percent or more under a new, three-year contract with Forum Health. The 25-nurse bargaining unit, a local unit of the Ohio Nurses Association, ratified the pact Wednesday.
The agreement will give Hillside nurses wage parity in two years with their counterparts at Forum's North Side Medical Center in Youngstown, where nurses recently approved a contract providing a 10.7 percent pay raise over three years. That means Hillside nurses, who had been paid less, will see their starting pay increase 14.7 percent, while a nurse at the top of the pay scale with 15 years' experience would see a 20.6 percent increase.
