Garage is closed because of illnesses

CLEVELAND (AP) -- City officials have closed a service garage where two workers were stricken with Legionnaires' disease and another employee was hospitalized with symptoms of the disease.
Two workers had been infected with the disease, a severe type of pneumonia, during the past 10 months. A city truck driver was admitted to Marymount Hospital Tuesday with pneumonia and is being tested for Legionnaires'.
The source of the disease has not been determined. Lab results were not complete for Legionella bacteria in water samples taken Monday at the Streets Department garage, city Health Director Matt Carroll said.
The shutdown is a precaution, Carroll said. He did not know how long the garage will be closed.
Workers have been moving trucks and equipment to another service garage.
Officials this week told employees to see a doctor if they had concerns about infection. Some workers said the city should provide medical testing.
