Police investigate 2 sex-related crimes

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- A sexual assault and an attempted rape are being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police.
Police said a 28-year-old Beaver County woman reported being raped off Pa. Route 18 in North Beaver Township overnight from Sunday to Monday. No other details were available from police.
State police said an attempted sexual assault occurred that same night in Major's Trailer Court in Slippery Rock Township. Police said Randy L. Klingensmith, 33, of New Castle is charged with attempted rape, burglary, indecent assault and harassment.
Police said he entered his ex-girlfriend's trailer and hid in her bedroom closet. During the night, he came out of the closet naked and attempted to have sex with the woman, police said. The victim fought him off by punching and biting him. He was in the Lawrence County Jail this morning after failing to post $10,000 bond.
