AUSTINTOWN -- A Spring Meadow Circle man is accused by police of distributing child pornography.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Wladyslaw "Walter" Piskor, 62. He is charged with pandering obscenity involving a minor, pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, and possession of criminal tools.
Austintown Detective Sgt. Frank Tomasino said he found 27 pornographic images, many of them involving children, on a computer disc seized from Piskor's house during a search July 7. Investigators said they also have an e-mail sent by Piskor that includes three pornographic images involving children.
"One picture is more than enough" to charge Piskor, Tomasino said. Piskor's computer also was seized during the search and is being examined by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, Tomasino said.
Investigation
Police reports show that Piskor's arrest was the result of an investigation that began Oct. 27, when an investigator with the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Justice logged into an America Online chat room for adults. The investigator's responsibilities include looking for those who deal in child pornography, Tomasino said.
Several of the AOL users in the chat room had posted the message "list me," which means they want to receive e-mails containing pornographic images, police reports state.
After a short time in the chat room, the Wisconsin investigator received an e-mail from an AOL user with the name "Poppy542," reports state. Police said the e-mail, which also was sent to 35 other addresses, contained two images of girls between the ages of 7 and 9 having sex with adult men.
A third image on the e-mail showed a 5- or 6-year-old girl performing a sex act on an adult male, reports state.
The Wisconsin investigator then viewed Poppy542's AOL user profile, which described him as a Polish man with no occupation. It also included the phrase "love 'em sweet and petite."
The profile did not list Poppy542's real name.
Subpoenaed records
In February, the Wisconsin investigator subpoenaed AOL records showing the names and addresses of Poppy542 and the 35 users that received his e-mail. The records identified Poppy542 as Piskor and stated that he lived on Spring Meadow Circle in Austintown, reports state.
Thinking Austintown was near Cleveland, the Wisconsin investigator sent the information about Piskor to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's office, Tomasino said. The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's office then sent the information to Austintown police last month.
