ARLINGTON, Texas -- Barry Zito continued his mastery of the Rangers at Texas and the Oakland Athletics moved back into first place in the AL West with a 9-4 victory Saturday night.
Zito (7-7) improved to 8-0 in 10 career road starts against Texas, allowing four runs and five hits in 5 2-3 innings. He struck out four and walked five for the A's, who have won seven of their last eight.
Erubiel Durazo went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs, and Damian Miller also had two hits for the A's, who moved past Texas again a day after being knocked out of first place.
Brian Jordan and Rod Barajas homered for the Rangers, who have lost six of their last eight.
