Military band registration
WARREN -- Registration will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday for band pupils ages 12 to 18 who would like to join Warren Junior Military Band's summer band. Registration will be at Warren Western Reserve Middle School, 200 Loveless S.W. The band will perform locally in June and travel to Illinois and Wisconsin to perform in festivals, field shows and parades between June 23 and July 4. Call (330) 759-2551 for details.
Seventy pupils will perform in a spring band concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, also in the middle school auditorium. Admission is free.
'Thank You America' show
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Cahal Dunne will be the featured performer at the "Thank You America" concert at 8 p.m. May 7 and at 2 and 8 p.m. May 8 at New Castle Playhouse, 212 E. Long Ave. Also participating will be members of the World Champion Irish Step Dancers
The musical will be a tribute to Americans who have served in the military. Special recognition will go to women who are playing important roles in today's military. The Playhouse will host three female color guards.
Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the Playhouse from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, or by calling (724) 657-9369.
