Williams hits for cycle for Bears



Kurt Williams also drove in the deciding run for Leetonia in a 14-13 win.
LEETONIA -- Kurt Williams hit for the cycle and doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning for Leetonia, as the Bears outlasted Lordstown 14-13 Tuesday in a high school baseball game.
Williams also hit a home run, triple and single and finished with four RBIs for the Bears (7-8).
Everyone in Leetonia's starting lineup had at least one hit. Anthony Danko hit a home run, double and single and scored three times. Jay Fiehler hit a double and two singles and scored twice.
Canfield 7, Alliance 2
CANFIELD -- Frank Turocy had three hits and three RBIs as Canfield dropped Alliance in a Metro Athletic Conference game.
Chad Baker (3-0) struck out 11 in six innings and also had two hits for the Cardinals (16-2, 6-0). John Virostko added two hits for Canfield, which got doubles from five different players.
Alliance is 10-5, 4-3.
Struthers 4, Salem 3
SALEM -- Steve Stenglein hit a double to score Anthony Sahli with the game-winner in the top of the seventh of a MAC game.
Stenglein had two hits, and Joel Lariccia added two hits and two runs for the Wildcats (3-10, 1-7).
Travis Milliron homered for Salem (11-5, 3-4).
North Canton Hoover 7, Fitch 2
AUSTINTOWN -- Andrew Warner, Chris Zaluski and Kurt Davidson hit home runs as the Vikings out-hit the Falcons 11-5 in a Federal League game.
Davidson went 4-for-4, and Adam Pate (2-2) struck out 11 for the Vikings (5-8, 4-3 Federal).
Mike Yacovone, Dom Modarelli and Bob Melnek doubled for the Falcons (9-3, 3-2).
After opening the season 8-0, Fitch has lost three of its last four.
Western Reserve 8, Lowellville 0
BERLIN CENTER -- Ryan Pauken and Brett Majirsky doubled, and Brandon Moherman (1-0) threw a three-hitter for the Blue Devils (9-5, 3-2 Inter-County League).
Steve Pinciaro doubled for the Rockets (0-11, 0-6).
Campbell 11, Springfield 6
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Red Devils (10-5) sent 12 batters to the plate in the fourth inning as they scored eight times to go ahead 9-6.
During the rally, Chris Melnik hit a three-run triple. Mark Such hit two singles and drove in two runs for Campbell.
Aaron Wood hit a three-run home run for Springfield (7-6) in the first inning. Mike Kampfler and losing pitcher Mike Sobnosky each hit a double.
Louisville 2, West Branch 1
LOUISVILLE -- Heath Hinkle held the Warriors to one run, and the Leopards (16-2, 7-1) scored in the bottom of the 10th to win the Northeastern Buckeye Conference game.
Andy Todor struck out eight and walked three, giving up one unearned run in eight innings for West Branch (6-10, 2-6).
