AMERICAN LEAGUE Indians win in 10th on Casey Blake's hit

Cleveland rallied for four runs in the 10th to post an 11-7 win over Chicago.
CHICAGO (AP) -- The Cleveland Indians finally got their hits when it mattered most.
Casey Blake hit a go-ahead RBI double in the 10th inning and Omar Vizquel had four hits and drove in two runs to lead Cleveland over the Chicago White Sox 11-7 Tuesday night.
After striking out Matt Lawton to start the 10th, Jon Adkins (2-1) gave up back-to-back singles to Vizquel and Jody Gerut. Blake followed with a double off the left-field wall scoring Vizquel to make it 8-7.
Adkins then intentionally walked Travis Hafner to load the bases and walked Victor Martinez to force in Gerut. Ronnie Belliard followed with an RBI single scoring Blake, and Hafner came around to score after center fielder Aaron Rowand bobbled the ball for an error to make it 11-7.
"We've been coming back all year long. What we did different was get big hits late," Indians manager Eric Wedge said. "We've always had a lot of fight. To finish it off was encouraging."
Rafael Betancourt (2-2) pitched two scoreless innings for the Indians, striking out three. David Riske pitched the 10th.
Magglio Ordonez and Frank Thomas hit back-to-back homers for the White Sox in the first inning and Paul Konerko also homered in the first for Chicago.
Martinez connects
Trailing 7-5, Martinez led off the eighth inning for the Indians with a home run off Chicago reliever Cliff Politte. Belliard followed with a single and one out later, Politte walked Escobar.
"We were due for a couple of games, but not this game, we should've won this game. I didn't do my job that kind of led to other things," Politte said. "My location was pretty bad. I had the guy 0-2, then I throw him the ball and he hits it out of the ballpark."
Damaso Marte entered for Politte and walked Lawton to load the bases. Vizquel followed with a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Belliard and tying it 7-all.
"I'm happy I got it done. I had a four-hit night a couple of years ago and it's always nice to help in a big win," Vizquel said.
In the first inning, Ordonez hit a two-run shot on a 3-0 pitch from Jeff D'Amico. Thomas followed with a shot to left-center and one out later, Konerko hit his fifth homer of the season into the left-field seats to make it 4-0.
3 runs in second
Cleveland got three back in the second off Jon Garland, who couldn't hold the White Sox lead. Hafner walked to lead off the inning and Martinez and Belliard hit back-to-back singles to load the bases. Garland then hit Broussard with a pitch, scoring Hafner. After an out Lawton hit a two-run single to pull to 4-3.
The Indians went up 5-4 in the fourth on Lawton's RBI grounder and Vizquel's run-scoring single.
"I tell you what, I hope we learned something from this today," White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said.
Willie Harris hit an RBI double off D'Amico to tie the game at five in the bottom half.
Cleveland's Kaz Tadano made his major league debut in the fifth inning and gave up Joe Crede's RBI single to make it 6-5. Lee homered off Rick White, making his debut for Cleveland, leading off the seventh.
Garland pitched six-plus innings and allowed five runs and 10 hits. He struck out four and walked two.
"Garland the first couple of innings, he fell asleep a little bit," Guillen said. "He wasn't throwing the way he wanted to throw."
D'Amico gave up five runs on eight hits in four innings.
