Armstrong gets Georgia victory

ALPHARETTA, Ga. (AP) -- Lance Armstrong climbed atop the podium, squeezed into the yellow jersey and tossed a bouquet of colorful flowers to an adoring crowd.
Sound familiar?
Armstrong gave a sneak preview of what he hopes will occur this summer, cruising to victory Sunday in the Tour de Georgia with a strong, confident performance that left no doubt he's still the man in cycling.
Even Armstrong expressed surprise at how well he performed during the six-day, seven-stage event that traversed the back roads of Georgia and ended at an office park in the sprawling suburbs north of Atlanta.
"Honestly, I didn't know how I would do," said Armstrong, who predicted before the race that he was unlikely to win. "My training has been good, but I didn't think I would feel this good in the race."
And it's only April. Three months from now, Armstrong hopes to make a triumphant ride down the Champs-Elysees with a record sixth straight victory in the Tour de France.
Canada's Gord Fraser won the final stage, beating Italian Mario Cipollini in a thrilling sprint to the line.
