YOUNGSTOWN -- Diana Colaianni, nursing director of the Mahoning County District Board of Health, has been awarded a Department of Health and Human Services Primary Health Care Policy Fellowship. During the six-month fellowship, she will meet and work with government, congressional and private sector health care officials in Washington, D.C.
Colaianni was nominated for the award by the National Association of County and City Health Officials. She is one of 30 health care professionals in the United States to be recognized with a fellowship this year.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Dr. Anand G. Garg, a Youngstown neurosurgeon, has been selected to receive the John H. Clark, M.D. Leadership Award by the Federation of State Medical Boards. The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, a commitment to advancing the public good and dedication to the field of medical licensure and discipline at the state and national levels.
Dr. Garg is a past president of the State Medical Board of Ohio and has served on both the Federation's Examination and Special Purpose Examination committees. The Federation is a national organization representing the 70 state medical boards of the United States and its territories.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Dr. Lawrence A. DiDomenico of Ankle & amp; Foot Care Centers in Youngstown has been elected to serve a three-year term on the board of directors of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. A podiatrist who lives in Canfield, Dr. DiDomenico is on staff at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Forum Health Northside Medical Center, Salem Community Hospital and East Liverpool City Hospital. He earned his undergraduate degree at Miami University, has a medical degree from Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency at the Sheehan Memorial Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y.
GIRARD -- Aim Leasing Co. has selected Craig Allan of North Olmsted as its 2003 Service Manager of the Year. Allan joined the company two years ago and is service manager for Aim's Walton Hills office. Based in Girard, Aim has 31 locations in 11 states.
BOARDMAN -- Andrew W. Kuchmaner, an agent with Uler-Kuchmaner Insurance Agency, has completed training to qualify as a Certified Senior Advisor. The training, provided by the Society of Certified Senior Advisors, is offered to professionals in the fields of medicine, insurance, investments and recreation.
WARREN -- Dr. Mark DeMalio, a chiropractic physician in private practice on North Road S.E. in Warren, has been accepted as a member of the American Academy of Spine Physicians. The AASP is an organization comprised of neurosurgeons and chiropractic physicians dedicated to improving the quality of spine care.
