Diocese to honor area youths with Eagle of the Cross Award

The award is the highest one a diocese can give to youths.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will present the Eagle of the Cross Award to 24 outstanding high school juniors and seniors.
The award is the highest recognition a diocese may confer on a youth.
The sixth annual program and banquet with Mass will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish.
The national award, from the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry, is given to Catholic youths who exemplify moral integrity, prayer and spiritual life, personal outreach to the church and community, contribution to parish and school programs, and Christian leadership.
