Best Bets on TV Tonight

In "Kids Pick The President: The Issues" (8:30 p.m. Nickelodeon), Linda Ellerbee gets kids to voice their views about key election topics such as health care, Iraq, and education.
Eight people grow and change over the course of a year in a small town in rural Colorado in "Plainsong" (9 p.m., CBS). Leading the cast of this new "Hallmark Hall of Fame" production are Rachel Griffiths, Aidan Quinn and America Ferrara. Based on a best-selling novel by Ken Haruf.
Ashton Kutcher's outrageous celebrity prank show "Punk'd" (10 p.m., MTV) -- sort of like an updated version of "Candid Camera" -- returns for a third season despite his proclamation that the show's second season was its last. MTV's not saying who's about to be duped.
Kit Johnson says she's a "party girl." And it's an apt description -- sort of -- for this Washington-area debutante, who faced countless parties and endless prep for her coming out fete at the District of Columbia's National Cotillion this past November. This party process -- from deciding to become a deb, to picking out the perfect white gown, to learning to curtsy so deeply that leg muscles ache from the workout -- is chronicled in "Debutantes" (8 p.m., A & amp;E). The show follows several young women from around the country as they follow the traditional rite of passage.
