Wedding invitations suggest dress code

NEW YORK (AP) -- Some wedding guests might think brides have it easy: They've had months to decide what to wear -- and they set the rules for everyone else.
Will it be black tie? Or cocktail attire?
And will guests crack the dress code?
Modern Bride's editors say they're seeing more wardrobe instructions printed at the bottom of wedding invitations. In the magazine's June/July issue, they decipher these guidelines:
UFrocks and feathers. A hot pink cocktail dress with feather boa for her; a dark suit with feather boutonniere for him.
UBoating elegance. A woman can wear anything in classic cashmere or linen; a man stays the course in a navy blazer.
UNightclub chic. Anything black and skimpy.
UCreative black tie. She can wear the tux.
USophisticated resortwear. Breezy skirts and trousers in tropical colors and prints.
UDressy casual. A far cry from "casual," a man should still wear a tie and button-down shirt but can skip the jacket; a woman, a cocktail-length dress.
UFrontier fancy. Denim welcome. But pair it with a dressy top.
UGarden garb. A floral sundress for her; polo shirt or seersucker suit for him.
