Quote/unquote
"When I was 16 or 17, I really fell for somebody. There's nothing like the first time you get your heart broken. Realizing you won't end up with the person is the worst. You automatically think the first time you fall in love is forever." -- Actress Jennifer Garner ("13 Going on 30"), in Teen People.
"Paula Abdul's 'Forever Your Girl.' Paula was the first concert I ever went to. I wanted to dance and sing just like her." -- Actress Rachel Bilson ("The O.C."), on the first album she ever had, in People magazine.
"I love to watch scary movies. When I was little, my friend and I used to make home-video equivalents of films like 'Nightmare on Elm Street' and the movie with the little character Chucky running around and things like that." -- Actor Luke Mably ("The Prince and Me"), on YM.com.
Walking in their shoes
According to the Urban Institute, 1.35 million children under the age of 18 will experience homelessness over the course of a year. The N, the nighttime network for tweens and teens, will tackle the issue of homelessness from a teenage perspective with a new episode of the network's acclaimed series "A Walk in Your Shoes." The episode "Homeless" premieres Monday at 9:30 p.m. and features an average teenage girl who "walks in the shoes" of a homeless teen and her family in an attempt to dispel stereotypes and stigmas, as well as understand the reality of homelessness.
