Lane acquires Madasz Funeral Home

BROOKFIELD -- Lane Funeral Homes has added a location here by acquiring Madasz Funeral Home.
The Brookfield location will operate as the Madasz Funeral Chapel, with Dan Briceland continuing as the managing funeral director. Briceland, 38, is a native of Columbiana and a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.
Adding Madasz gives Lane its own crematory, said Joseph Lane, company president. Lane has other locations in Mineral Ridge, Austintown and Canfield.
Lane also announced that it has opened a family center at its Canfield funeral home at 65 N. Broad St.
"Having a family center associated with our funeral home is an ideal solution for families that need a place to host post-funeral receptions," Lane said.
The center offers a serving area and facilities to support catered food and refreshments. It may be used by families using any of the Lane funeral homes.
The 2,900-square-foot area also can be used for meetings and seminars. It can accommodate up to 60 people.
