Home Savings to add a branch

McDONALD -- Home Savings and Loan intends to open a branch in McDonald in July.
The branch will open at 427 Ohio Ave., which used to be a Bank One office. It will be the Youngstown-based thrift's first office in McDonald.
"In order to remain competitive in the community banking industry, we realize the importance of continued expansion into previously untapped or underserved market areas," said David Lodge, Home Savings president and chief operating officer.
The branch will be Home Savings' fourth branch in Trumbull County. In total, it has 35 branches and six loan production offices in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
The branch will have lobby and drive-through service, ATM and night depository. Home Savings said it will start a marketing campaign for the branch in July.
The branch has been approved by federal and state regulators.
Home Savings employs nearly 700 people and is owned by United Community Financial Corp., which also is the parent company of Butler Wick Corp., a Youngstown-based stock brokerage.
