SUPPLIES\ The list
These are the supplies you will need to complete the craft.
Recycled compact discs.
Green and blue watercolor paint.
Computer maps of the world.
Printer.
Paintbrush.
Yarn, cut in 24-inch lengths.
Masking tape.
Bowl of water.
Paper towels.
White craft glue.
1 strip of white paper, 8 inches long and1 1/2 inches wide.
Marking pen.
Scissors.
Print out the front and back images of the Earth's surface from the Web site. Teachers and parents may want to label the land portions with a "G" for the green Earth and a "B" for blue ocean water. Cut out the circles.
Tape one end of a piece of yarn to the disc with masking tape.
Glue the maps to both sides of the CD.
Paint both sides of the discs. Paint the continents green and the oceans blue.
Fold strips of white paper in half and write an appropriate Earth Day slogan, such as "Save Our Earth" on the paper, starting at the folded side.
Glue or staple the paper above the disc.
Hang by the yarn to dry and display.
