Satterlee powers Ursuline past Harding; Springfield wins in ICL



Youngstown Christian defeated Rayen and Chaney beat Wilson.
WARREN -- Sean Satterlee, David Patrick and Armand DePaul combined to lead the Ursuline High baseball team to an 8-6 win over Warren Harding Monday, tying the two schools for first place in the Steel Valley Conference baseball standings.
Satterlee had three hits, including a homer, and two RBIs. Patrick had two singles, three stolen bases and pitched in relief.
DePaul (3-1) pitched the first five innings and exited with a 6-3 lead for the Irish (7-5, 2-1 SVC).
Joe Spain had three hits for Harding (6-4, 2-1).
Ursuline reached the championship game of the Parochial Tournament at Cene Park over the weekend, losing its final game to Walsh Jesuit.
Youngstown Christian 14, Rayen 4
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown Christian took a 5-0 lead in the first inning in the non-league game at Oakland Field.
Aaron Agresta scattered five hits in his first start as he went five innings to pick up the win for the Eagles (3-0).
Tim Batley hit three singles, drove in three runs and scored twice for the Eagles. Mike Byrdy hit three singles, scored four runs and stole five bases. Jared VanArsdale hit three singles and stole four bases.
Jermaine Cooper of the Tigers (0-5) hit three singles and stole five bases.
Chaney 13, Wilson 3
YOUNGSTOWN -- Dave Baco tripled twice for the Cowboys (8-1, 2-0 City Series).
Aaron Biros, Rich Hlinka and Brian Kopachy also had two singles apiece and Tom Enyeart doubled for Chaney.
Wilson is 0-7, 0-1.
Springfield 6, McDonald 3
MCDONALD -- Aaron Wood homered for the Tigers, and Brad Adams had two hits including a double plus an RBI and a run scored.
Springfield (6-2, 4-0 Inter-County League) pitchers allowed 11 hits. Winning pitcher Luke Summers got relief help in the seventh from Tyler Yeager and Adams.
James Beedle, Ken McKay and Paul Logar all had two hits for McDonald (1-4, 1-3).
South Range 3, Jackson-Milton 1
NORTH LIMA -- Danny Justice allowed three hits and struck out nine for the Raiders (7-4, 2-0 ICL). He also hit a double.
Nick Serb hit a double for the Bluejays.
Western Reserve 12,Mineral Ridge 11
BERLIN CENTER -- Brock Christie and Jake Zatchok doubled for the Blue Devils (5-5, 2-2 ICL) who pushed across the winning run with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Jeff Scott doubled for the Rams, who led 9-3 in the fourth inning.
United 15, Leetonia 8
LEETONIA -- Travis Boyle hit a bases-loaded double, and a single, and finished with four RBIs, while Mike Briceland added three singles and two RBIs to lead United in a Tri-County League game.
Don Boyd two singles and three RBIs, Jay Fiehler had two singles and two RBIs and Jamie Kegelmyer had three singles with three runs scored to lead Leetonia (5-6, 2-5).
Crestview 8, Sebring 5
COLUMBIANA -- Andy Walton doubled twice and Kirk Pflugh had one for the Rebels (2-6, 1-5 TCL).
A six-run fourth helped wipe out a 4-1 Trojans advantage.
Mathews 9, Lordstown 8
VIENNA -- Matt Weymer collected a double, two singles and four RBIs while Drew Turner had three singles to lead Mathews in a Northeastern Athletic Conference game.
Kevin Forsythe added two RBIs, Drew Turner three singles and Tyler Stanton two singles for Mathews (7-4, 4-1).
The win in relief went to Paul Belany (2-0).
