Farmers National parentearns $2.3 million
CANFIELD -- Farmers National Banc Corp., the holding company of Farmers National Bank, earned $2.3 million in the first quarter, which was 6 percent more than it earned in the same quarter last year. Earnings per share went up a penny last quarter to 18 cents.
Also, Anne Frederick Crawford and James R. Fisher have been named to the board of directors of the holding company. Crawford is a partner with the law firm of Brennan, Frederick, Vouros and Yarwood. Fisher is a certified public accountant who retired from Hill Barth and King in 1997.
F.N.B. Corp.earns $16.2 million
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- F.N.B. Corp., the holding company of First National Bank of Pennsylvania, earned $16. 2 million, or 34 cents a share, in the first quarter, compared with $14.6 million, or 31 cents a share, in the same quarter last year. The earnings last quarter included a $2.7 million gain from the sale of two branches.
Powered Airebuilds new plant
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Powered Aire has started construction of a new plant in the Reynolds North Industrial Park. The company recently bought land in the park from Greenville-Reynolds Development Corp.
Powered Aire, which is owned by Bill Arbanas, Ken Blashak and Ken Lapinski, makes air curtains, which create an airflow that prevents outside air from entering through a door. The company has been renting space from the development organization since 1997. The new plant is expected to open in the fall.
Chamber plans programon new weapons law
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will hold a program on the state's new concealed weapons law and its impact on business. The chamber's small-business support network will hold the program from 7:30-9 a.m. Friday at The Georgetown in Boardman.
