First Night Youngstown board seeks members

YOUNGSTOWN -- First Night Youngstown is accepting names of people who would like to serve on its board of trustees.
The nonprofit organization meets monthly and is working on plans for its fifth downtown New Year's Eve celebration. The organization's mission is to:
URecapture the symbolic significance of the passage from the old year to the new.
UUnite the community through a shared cultural celebration.
UStrengthen the public's appreciation of the visual and performing arts.
UHelp revitalize the urban core of the community.
UOffer a family-friendly alternative to traditional New Year's revelry.

Letters must be postmarked by May 15 to be eligible.
