BENEFIT Annual tea set for May 3 as Fund-raiser to be held funds Motherhouse

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Diocesan Ladies of Charity will hold a "Tea For Green" event from 1 to 3 p.m. May 3 at the Ursuline Motherhouse, Shields Road, Canfield.
The public is invited to participate, and donations will be accepted at the door.
The tea has been a major fund-raiser for the organization for the past 40 years. Funds from the traditional event are dispersed to several community service organizations. Among those benefiting are the Beatitude House, St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Potter's Wheel, Birthright of Mahoning County, New Life Maternity Home in Trumbull County, the Rescue Mission and Mill Creek Children's Center.
In addition to providing financial support for those organizations, the 150 members of the Ladies of Charity contribute some 18,000 hours of volunteer work to numerous charities in the area including Hospice, Meals on Wheels, St. Elizabeth Health Center, and area nursing homes, schools and churches.
