Angels for Animals' garage sale set next weekend at Canfield Fairgrounds



Donations are being accepted for the fund-raiser.
CANFIELD -- Angels for Animals will hold its 10th annual gigantic garage sale Friday through April 25 at the Canfield Fairgrounds.
Early bird admission from 10 a.m. to noon Friday is $5. Admission will be $1 from noon to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Sunday will be bargain day with free admission from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Donations may be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at the main gate of the fairgrounds, and those taking donations should follow the signs. Items that can not be accepted are console televisions, stereos, refrigerators, freezers, stoves, sofabeds, washers and dryers.
Three buildings filled with bargains including a special section for antiques and collectibles will be open to shoppers.
For safety purposes, no children younger than 4 years old and no strollers or wagons will be permitted in any of the buildings.
There also will be food, a Chinese auction and 50-50 raffles.
About the shelter
Proceeds from the garage sale will benefit the Angels for Animals shelter located at 4750 state Route 165 in Canfield. The shelter, founded in 1990, promotes education about the importance of spaying and neutering as a way to cope with the pet over-population crisis. The shelter also finds foster homes for abandoned and homeless animals, which are available for adoption. The shelter is run mainly by community volunteers.
Adoption hours for cats are from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Adoption hours for dogs are from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
