COLUMBIANA -- Crestview Elementary pupils and staff are working to show visitors that "There's no place like home," where technology education is concerned.
Crestview Elementary's annual technology night will be at 6 p.m. May 4 with a "Wizard of Oz" theme.
Susan Kershner, instructional technology coordinator, said visitors are invited to dress the part by wearing costumes related to the theme. During their visit to "Oz," visitors will "follow the Yellow Brick Road," as they visit various technology stations throughout the elementary school.
The school's annual technology night showcases various accomplishments by the kindergarten through fourth-grade pupils and how they incorporate technology into their studies. There will be hands-on opportunities so everyone will have the experience of using some of the technology available to Crestview pupils.
Principal Al Cervello will portray Scarecrow, and other staff members portraying Dorothy and other characters from the book and movie will be positioned throughout the building to help people find their way.
A trivia game much like "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" will have an audience of 30 people using electronic response keypads to help contestants with "Wizard of Oz" trivia questions.
'Oz' themes
