YSU Relay for Life season to kick off with 24-hour event at Beeghly



The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life season begins today and Saturday at Youngstown State University's Beeghly Center.
Registration is at 5 p.m., opening ceremonies are at 5:30 p.m., and the first lap for cancer survivors at 6 p.m. A luminary ceremony to honor survivors and remember others is at 9 p.m., with music by GoldieRox at 10 p.m.
The 24-hour relay, the signature fund-raising event for ACS, resumes at 11 a.m. Saturday with a beach party. Sharon Mika, author of "Penny's Big Day" is scheduled for noon, and there will be an awards ceremony at 2:30 p.m.

UJune 4-5: East Liverpool Mangano Memorial Track; Lakeview High School stadium, Cortland.
UJune 11-12: Lordstown High School.
UJune 18-19: Sebring High School stadium; Reilly Stadium, Salem.
UJune 25-26: Columbiana County Fairgrounds, Lisbon; Roosevelt Park, Campbell.
