GIRARD
April 12
Identity theft: A couple in the 800 block of Church Hill Road discovered someone fraudulently opened three credit card accounts in their name while they were on vacation. One had a $1,320.28 balance due; another showed a $1,079 charge.
Possible theft: A man in the 900 block of Washington Avenue reported his vehicle's rear license plate missing from his car.
Vandalism: A man noticed that a gate to a pumping station in the 100 block of West Main Street had been torn off its hinges, and that a steel grate was missing.
Theft: An employee at Santisi's IGA Super Center, 419 N. Main St., alleged a Girard man tried to steal two steaks valued at $16.42 after finding the items in a restroom trash can.
LIBERTY
April 6
Theft: A man in the 4100 block of Logan Gate Road reported his vehicle's passenger-side window broken and 36 compact discs stolen.
Auto theft: A 1989 Ford Explorer was stolen from a parking lot in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.
Arrest: After investigating a theft at the American Inn, 1600 Motor Inn Drive, police arrested a Youngstown man on a warrant from Iowa charging him with credit-card fraud.
April 7
Possible theft: A man in the 400 block of Adrian Circle discovered his car's license plate lost or stolen at his residence.
Bad check: Someone presented a $49.12 check at a BP gas station, 2703 Belmont Ave., that was returned for insufficient funds.
Theft: Someone left a BP gas station and failed to pay for $10 worth of gasoline.
Criminal mischief: Someone wrote obscenities on a playground set at Church Hill Park on Belmont Avenue.
Theft: A woman in the 4200 block of Logan Gate Road discovered a CD player and 60 CDs stolen from her car. Estimated amount of the loss was $500.
April 8
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 1700 block of Naylor-Lloyd Road found pry marks on her apartment's door, likely caused by someone trying to break in. Damage was estimated at $75.
Criminal damaging: A woman reported her vehicle's rear mirror was broken near her apartment in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.
April 9
Breaking and entering: A man in the 800 block of Tibbets-Wick Road found that someone broke a door window to gain entry into a nearby pole building. Two mountain bikes, three lawn mowers and a rototiller were removed, and the loss was about $3,147.
April 10
Arrest: After responding to a suspicious-person report, police arrested a 48-year-old Youngstown man in the 3000 block of Frederick Street. He was wanted on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on a charge of having no operator's license.
Arrest: After stopping his vehicle on Colonial Drive for having expired license plates, police arrested a Youngstown man, 26, on a charge of failure to appear in court on two counts of driving under the influence and failure to appear on one count of having no operator's license.
April 12
Assault: A 13-year-old Youngstown boy told police that, while riding his bicycle in the 300 block of Ventura Drive, two people threatened him and threw rocks at him, one of which struck the boy in the back. He had a small red mark on his back.
Theft: A man in the 10 block of Trumbull Court alleged his girlfriend removed from his residence a $4,500 wedding ring set and a $1,800 gold chain.
Assault: A Girard woman alleged her boyfriend grabbed her by the hair, spit on her and tossed her onto a bed as she prepared to move from his residence in the 10 block of Trumbull Court.
