NEW HOMETOWN: U.S. Rep. Steven C. LaTourette, R-14th, whose district includes seven northern townships in Trumbull County, has a new address.
LaTourette, who is getting a divorce from Susan, his wife of 21 years, has moved out of their house in Madison. He's moved to a home in Concord Township, about 10 to 15 minutes from Madison but still in Lake County.
In an October interview with The Hill, a Washington, D.C., publication, LaTourette's wife blamed the Washington culture for the breakup, adding the city "corrupts people." She also said LaTourette was involved with a D.C. lobbyist, and told her about the divorce over the telephone.
A day later, she apologized for the comments, saying she shouldn't have gone public with their divorce.
LaTourette is being challenged in the November general election by Democrat Capri Cafaro of Liberty in what should be one of the few interesting congressional races in the state, and easily the most expensive one.
