NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Rev. Douglas Pride, Presbyterian minister and 1980 Westminster College graduate, will deliver the 17th annual Wayne H. Christy Memorial Lecture at 7 p.m. Sunday in Westminster College's Wallace Memorial Chapel. He will speak on "The Forgotten Third: Jesus' Call to Preach, to Teach, and to Heal."
The Rev. Mr. Pride is pastor of Clearfield Presbyterian Church, a native of Avonworth and a graduate of Kiski Area High School. After graduating from Westminster, he went on to the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary where he earned master of divinity and doctor of ministry degrees.
The Wayne H. Christy Lecture Series annually honors Dr. Wayne H. Christy, who was a longtime faculty member and chair of Westminster's Department of Religion and Philosophy. The program seeks out men and women who distinguish themselves by relating religion to issues of contemporary life.
