Bridging a gapin the region'sroad system
Sparks fly as a worker from Great Lakes Construction Co. of Hinckley, Ohio, uses a cutting torch while doing demolition work on a section of the Division Street Bridge near V & amp;M Star Steel on Youngstown's North Side. A wider view of the demolition is at right. The bridge is being replaced as part of the 711 Connector project, which will link state Route 11 in Liberty Township with Interstate 680 on Youngstown's West Side. The bridge is a critical part in that project, which is being done by the Ohio Department of Transportation and is scheduled for completion sometime next year.
