PREP ROUNDUP Skye Walley throws no-hitter at Wilson; South Range rolls



Champion's Lauren Seafert tossed a one-hitter.
NORTH LIMA -- Junior Skye Walley pitched a no-hitter as the South Range High softball team defeated Woodrow Wilson 27-0 Monday.
Walley (2-1), who also threw a no-hitter last season, allowed just one base runner -- on an error -- in the five inning game.
She walked none and struck out nine for the Raiders (2-1) who scored 21 runs in the first inning.
Lynn O'Connell had three hits, including a triple and a double, and drove in four.
Harding 4, Chaney 2
WARREN -- Morgan Dowell doubled with the bases loaded in the third inning for Harding (3-1).
Chaney scored in the top of the third inning to tie the score at 1-1 then scored again in the fifth to close the gap.
Jackson-Milton 8, LaBrae 7
NORTH JACKSON -- Shannon McGee's single in the bottom of the seventh inning single drove in the game-wining run for the Bluejays (5-2). McGee had two hits while Rhea Weimer tripled and scored.
LaBrae pitcher Lindsey Higgins carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning. She also had three hits, scored three runs and drove in two runs.
Champion 8, Liberty 1
CHAMPION -- Lauren Seafert (2-0) threw a one-hitter with three strikeouts for the Golden Flashes.
Jessica Carpenter went 4-for-4 with a double for Champion (3-1, 2-1 Trumbull Athletic Conference).
Liberty is 1-2, 1-1.
Baseball
CORTLAND -- Lakeview scored three times in the fifth and sixth innings to pull away from Campbell Memorial for an 8-4 victory.
Bryan Parson drove in a pair of runs with a single and double, while Mike Monfredi had two hits. Drew Mullee added two RBIs for the Bulldogs (2-1). Sean McBride picked up the victory in relief.
