Some post offices around the region to be open later on tax day



YOUNGSTOWN -- Some post offices in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys will offer extended hours Thursday, the deadline for filing state and federal income tax forms.
The Youngstown Main Post Office will be open until midnight, and all mail deposited up until that time will receive a Thursday cancellation date.
The main office, 88 S. Walnut St., will have a clerk stationed in the parking lot to accept mail from drive-through customers. For customers who need to purchase postage or have their mail weighed, a clerk will be stationed at the main office window.
Tax returns also may be deposited until midnight into the exterior collection boxes at the post offices in Austintown, Boardman, Cornersburg and Poland.
In Trumbull County, the Warren Main Post Office, 201 High St. N.E., will be open until 11:59 p.m. The post office will have a clerk inside the building at the window to accept mail. No other post offices in the county have extended hours Thursday.
There are no extended hours at post offices in Columbiana County on Thursday.
In Mercer County, the Hermitage office, 3386 E. State St., will remain open until 10 p.m. Thursday to accept mail.
In Lawrence County, the New Castle Main Post Office, 435 S. Cascade St., will be open until 11 p.m. Thursday.
No other post offices in either Pennsylvania county will have extended hours Thursday.
