CLEANUP DAY Pennsylvania



April 24 is the Great Pennsylvania Cleanup Day, when people across the state will help clean up state and other public properties in a beautification effort. Local programs include:
MERCER COUNTY
Shenango River Watchers: Volunteers meet at 9 a.m. in Sharon City Centre parking lot to clean up the banks of the Shenango River in Sharon and Sharpsville. Participants should call the organization at (724) 342-5453 by April 20 to register.
Shenango River Lake: Volunteers will clean up day-use areas, parking lots and shorelines. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided. To register, call (724) 646-1124 by Friday to participate.
Pymatuning State Park: Volunteers will meet at Shelter No. 4 near the Pennsylvania park office at 8:30 a.m. They will pick up litter and debris in day-use areas, the campground, trails and the shoreline. The effort will run until 11 a.m. Call (724) 932-3142 by April 20 to register.
PennDOT: Volunteers wanting to help clean up state roads should call the county office at (724) 662-5350 by April 23.
