ASSOCIATIONS
XThe Licensed Practical Nurse Association, Division 3 of Mahoning and Trumbull Counties, will meet at 7 p.m. April 19 at Greenbrier Nursing Facility, 8064 South Ave., Boardman. The program, "The American Cancer Society Needs You" will be presented by Alfred F. Stabilito, Eastern Ohio communications and advocacy director of the ACS, Ohio Division. The Ohio Board of Nursing has approved the event for 1.8 contact hours. LPNs and registered nurses may attend. The cost for members is $2 and non-members, $4. XO-My-O Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will meet for a buffet dinner Thursday at the Blue Wolf Restaurant, 139 S. Bridge St., Struthers. Meals are $13.50 and include chicken pagola, broiled cod, penne pasta, green beans almondine, salad, rolls and beverage. The speaker will be Louis Gibb who recently traveled to Washington as a leader of American Romanian Ladies Auxiliaries of America. CLUBS
XAustintown Junior Women's League will meet at 7 p.m. April 21 at Austintown Township Hall, 82 Ohltown Road, Austintown. The program will focus on how to detect and prevent child abuse. XCatholic Singles Adult Club of Youngstown Inc. will meet April 18 for a concert at W.D. Packard Music Hall, Mahoning Avenue, Warren. XMahoning Valley Rose Society will meet at 6 p.m. April 16 at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center, Youngstown. The speaker will be Dr. John Dickman, who writes a column for the American Rose Society magazine. The group also will plant some roses at Fellows Riverside Gardens that were donated by the society.
