NEW YORK -- Javier Vazquez pitched three-hit ball for eight innings in his first game with the Yankees and Jorge Posada homered as New York won its seventh straight home opener.
Tigers 10, Twins 6
DETROIT -- Fernando Vina scored the go-ahead run on Brad Thomas' wild pitch in a five-run seventh, and Detroit rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win its home opener and improve to 4-0 for the first time since 1985. In his home debut in Detroit, Ivan Rodriguez singled twice, walked and caught a runner trying to steal.
Angels 5, Mariners 1
SEATTLE -- Adam Kennedy hit a go-ahead, two-run single during a five-run rally in the ninth as Anaheim completed a three-game sweep.
Orioles 3, Red Sox 2, 13 innings
BALTIMORE -- Bobby Jones' fourth walk of the 13th inning forced in Javy Lopez with the winning run. Rodrigo Lopez (1-0) worked 11/3 innings to cap a terrific performance by the Orioles' bullpen.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Diamondbacks 6, Rockies 5, 11 innings
PHOENIX -- Richie Sexson hit a two-run homer in the 11th inning to give Arizona the victory. Colorado had taken a 5-4 lead in the top of the 11th on Todd Greene's leadoff homer. Bobby Estalella hit a three-run homer in his first Arizona at-bat.
Reds 5, Cubs 3
CINCINNATI -- Sean Casey had three hits, including a two-run double, and Jose Acevedo pitched six innings to lead Cincinnati. Acevedo (1-0) gave up five hits -- all for extra bases -- and didn't walk a batter.
Brewers 11, Cardinals 5
ST. LOUIS -- Brady Clark homered in his first two at-bats, Keith Ginter hit a three-run homer and Scott Podsednik had four hits. Chris Capuano (1-0) gave up four runs, one earned, and four hits in six innings.
Marlins 3, Expos 0
MIAMI -- Dontrelle Willis pitched five-hit ball into the eighth inning and went 3-for-3. Mike Lowell led off the second inning with his first homer of the season.
Braves 10, Mets 8
ATLANTA -- Johnny Estrada had a career-high four RBIs and Atlanta celebrated the 30th anniversary of Hank Aaron's 715th home run. Estrada finished 3-for-4 -- tying a career high for hits -- and Marcus Giles had four hits for Atlanta.
Padres 4, Giants 3, 10 innings
SAN DIEGO -- Sean Burroughs hit an opposite-field RBI single with two outs in the 10th inning. Barry Bonds went 0-for-4 with an intentional walk and remained at 659 home runs.
