Oakland makes changeto its play schedule
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Oakland Center for the Arts has made a change in its play schedule. The downtown theater company will present "The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (abridged)" April 30-May 15, instead of the previously announced, "The Chosen."
"The Compleat Works" is a spoof on some of the Bard's greatest plays, but you don't need to remember your Shakespeare to enjoy it. Call (330) 746-0404 for information and reservations. The Oakland is located at 220 W. Boardman St.
Salem Humane Societyplans benefit concert
SALEM -- Just in time to shake off the winter blues, the Salem Humane Society announces An Evening in Margaritaville, with Jimmy Buffett tribute band Fins to the Left. The benefit will start at 8 p.m. Saturday and run to 1 a.m. at the Salem Little Quaker Hall. All proceeds will benefit the Salem Humane Society.
Tickets, $10 in advance and $12 the night of the show, are on sale at Kendrick's Corner, 981 N. Ellsworth Ave., Salem; Beach Scene, 119 Jennings Ave., Salem; Bo's Pet Shop, 14899 South Ave., Columbiana; and the office of Dr. Parker Dewitt, 525 W. Main St., Canfield. Tickets are also available at the Humane Society office, 159 S. Ellsworth Ave., Salem.
Fins to the Left is Northeast Ohio's most recognizable Jimmy Buffett tribute band. In its sixth year, Fins has opened for Jimmy Buffett at the Post-Gazette Pavilion in Pittsburgh and performed at Buffett's Margaritaville Caf & eacute; in Key West, Fla., as well as many regional shows.
