PITTSBURGH -- With the announcement Tuesday evening of the summer schedules at Post-Gazette Pavilion and Chevrolet Amphitheatre at Station Square, concertgoers received a choice of dates to see their favorite acts.
There are only a few lineup variations between the Pittsburgh and Cleveland concert seasons. The Tower City Amphitheatre and Gund Arena seasons were announced at a press party last week in Cleveland.
The only major question that remains for the summer season at Post-Gazette Pavilion is whether Jimmy Buffett will unite his Parrotheads for a night of margarita-enriched sounds. Right now, his only area date is July 1 at Blossom Music Center.
Unlike more than three dozen other concerts shown in a video presentation for the press, Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band, a double bill of KISS and Poison, and one featuring Pittsburgh's homegrown talent The Clarks did not offer specific dates.
The Route 18 Round-Up Country Series at Post-Gazette Pavilion features a number of the genre's top-selling acts, including Tim McGraw, Brooks & amp; Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith and Keith Urban. For now, those interested in these shows must buy the five-concert series rather than individual concerts.
And although video screens have been a longtime sight for those with lawn seats at Post-Gazette Pavilion, the Chevrolet Amphitheatre will introduce screens this year to bring up-close views of favorite artists to those who aren't located in the front rows.
